Quick answer:Go to Account & Lists → Your Orders, find the order, click Order details (if needed), then choose Archive order and confirm. The order moves out of your default history into Archived Orders. It’s not deleted—you can still view, print invoices, or unarchive it anytime.
Why archive an Amazon order?
Archiving lets you hide a purchase from your main “Your Orders” list—useful for gifts, surprises, or simply tidying up a busy history. It does not delete the order, cancel returns/warranties, or remove information from emails/receipts or credit-card statements.
Step-by-step: Archive an Amazon order on desktop
Sign in to Amazon on a computer browser.
Hover over Account & Lists (top right) and click Your Orders.
Find the order you want to hide.
If you don’t see an Archive order button right away, click Order details first.
Click Archive order → confirm in the pop-up.
Done. The order disappears from your default order list and now lives under Archived Orders.
Pro tip: You can still open the order’s invoice, track details, or support options from the Archived Orders page.
How to archive an Amazon order on your phone (mobile workaround)
The Amazon mobile app often doesn’t show the Archive button. If you’re on a phone, use a mobile browser and request the desktop site:
On iPhone (Safari):
Open Safari → go to amazon.com → sign in.
Tap aA in the address bar → Request Desktop Website.
Go to Account & Lists → Your Orders.
Open Order details → Archive order → confirm.
On Android (Chrome):
Open Chrome → amazon.com → sign in.
Tap the ⋮ menu → Desktop site (check it).
Go to Account & Lists → Your Orders.
Open Order details → Archive order → confirm.
Where to find your Archived Orders
Desktop: Account & Lists → Your Orders → look for Archived Orders (usually a link on that page).
Mobile browser (desktop view): Go to Your Orders, then open the Archived Orders link.
How to unarchive an order
Go to Archived Orders.
Find the order → click Unarchive order.
The order returns to your main Your Orders list.
What archiving does—and doesn’t—do
Archiving does:
Move an order out of your default Your Orders view.
Keep order data intact (invoices, tracking history, support eligibility).
Archiving doesn’t:
Delete the order or erase receipts.
Remove emails/notifications already sent.
Hide the purchase from your payment/bank statements.
Replace good privacy practices (e.g., using separate accounts for surprises).
Troubleshooting (Archive button missing?)
Try Order details: Some layouts show Archive order only after you open Order details.
Use desktop view: On phones, request the desktop site in your browser.
Check order status: Recently placed or still-processing orders may not show the option yet.
Business/Digital orders: Certain order types or regions may display different options. Open Order details for the correct location.
FAQs
1) Can I permanently delete an Amazon order?
No. You can archive it to remove it from your default view, but it’s still accessible and not deleted from Amazon’s records or your payment history.
2) How do I see all hidden/archived orders?
Go to Your Orders → Archived Orders (or the Archived Orders link on that page).
3) Can I archive multiple orders at once?
There’s no official bulk-archive button in most layouts. You’ll need to archive orders one by one.
4) Does archiving affect returns or warranties?
No. Archiving does not change return eligibility, warranties, or support. It only changes visibility in your default order list.
5) Can family members still see an archived order?
Anyone who signs in to the same Amazon account can access Archived Orders. For true privacy, consider separate logins, or complete purchases with a different account.
6) Is “Archive order” the same as “Hide order”?
Amazon generally uses Archive to hide orders from your main list. “Hide” language may appear in articles/videos, but the function you want is Archive order.
7) Where is the Archive button on mobile?
It often doesn’t appear in the app. Use a mobile browser and request desktop site, then follow the desktop steps.
